Kodiak Ferry

Comprised of some 14,000 residents the Kodiak Island Borough includes the city of Kodiak, 7 villiages, numerous camps and lodges and the US Coast Guards' largest base.

The port is served by the Alaska Marine ferries.

Once the capital of Russian America, many architectural clues like the Russian Orthodox Church & the Baranof Museum alude to Kodiak's Russian heritage

Kodiak loves to celebrate and two of the most popular festivals are Whalefest - a 10 day event in April which celebrates the return of the Pacific Gray whales to Alaskan waters and the Kodiak Crab Festival.
